Communications Assistant
Reports to: Director of Communications
Hours: 10 hours per week
Duties:
- Maintain the Seminary’s Facebook page.
- Some content will be provided, other info will be student generated. Content includes text and pictures.
- Send private messages to our network participants asking for their grad years if applicable, where they're working, etc.
- Set up big campus events (i.e. Continuing Education lectures, Alumnae/i Days, etc.) as events on Facebook and then invite our network participants to these events
- Work with student groups to encourage them to set up groups, too, i.e. ESF, NIA, etc. so that their group members could be invited to attend events directly related to particular student groups
- Create a weekly PowerPoint presentation to be displayed on the Seminary’s digital signs.
- Some content will be provided, other info will be student generated. Content includes text and pictures.
- Presentation will include events for the week, campus photos, Scripture versus, etc.
- Write articles for Seminary publications including print and online.
- Some story ideas will be provided, others will be student generated.
- Articles are typically 500 words or less.
- Requires interviewing students, faculty, and others on campus.
- Deadlines are important and typically established well in advance.
- Other communication office duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Extensive knowledge of Facebook
Knowledge of PowerPoint
Excellent writing skills
Beneficial Skills:
Photography
