Academic Affairs

Byron Jackson           Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty He joined the faculty in 1986 and is the Louise and Perry Dick associate professor of church education. Further information about Barry is available on his faculty page.
Kathy Anderson '04  
Faculty Administrative Assistant She began her service in 1999. Kathy earned her B.M.E. from Wittenberg University and her master's from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 2004.
Michelle Lapinski   Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty and  Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program Michelle earned her bachelor's from Geneva College and joined the Seminary staff in 2005. 
Anne Malone  
Registrar Anne earned her bachelor's from Christian Heritage College and joined the staff in 2003.
Holly McKelvey   Administrative Assistant to the Faculty and Director of Field Education Holly came to the Seminary in 2004.
 

Admissions

Jim Downey            
Vice President for Planning and Institutional Effectiveness Jim earned his bachelor’s in physics from Grove City College, master’s in nuclear science from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and doctorate in aero/astronautical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a retired colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve. He started at the Seminary in 2012.
Derek Davenport ’05 / SYI ’97   Associate Director of Admissions and Co-Director of the Miller Summer Youth Institute Derek is ordained as Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA). He is a graduate of Grove City College ’02 and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary ’05.
Anthony Rivera   Associate Director of Admissions Anthony earned his degrees from The Inter-American University of Puerto Rico (bachelor's), and Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div. and Th.M.). He joined the staff in 2009.Anthony is ordained as Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Sharon Taylor           Donald G. Miller Librarian and Director of the Barbour Library Sharon earned her degrees from Florida State University (B.A. and M.L.S.), Reformed Theological Seminary (M.Div.), Princeton Theological Seminary (ThM), and Boston College (Ph.D.). Karen Baughman '06   Technical Processor Karen is a graduate of Shippensburg University (B.S.) and Dominican University (M.L.S.) and received her M.Div. from the Seminary in 2006.
Diane Faust   Serials Librarian Diane joined the Seminary staff in 2003. She received her M.A.L.S. from the University of Chicago.
Sandra Howard   Cataloger Sandra received her MLS from Simmons College in Boston, Mass.
Ellen Little   Circulation Manager She earned her bachelor's from Chatham University and MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh
Elizabeth Scott   Archivist/ Records Management Librarian Liz is a certified archivist and also has a B.A. in history from Dickinson College and her M.L.S. from SUNY at Albany specializing in archives and records management. She began her work at PTS in 2011.
Mariam Sogoian   Acquisitions Librarian Mariam received her M.L.S. from the University of Pittsburgh and joined the staff in 1995. 
Alexis Stapp   Interlibrary Loan Librarian/ Night and Weekend Supervisor She received her B.A. from the University of Minnesota Duluth and her M.L.I.S. from the University of Pittsburgh.

Business Office

Ann Getkin           Vice President for Business and Administration Ann began at the Seminary in 2011. She earned her degrees from Indiana University of PA (B.S.) and Robert Morris University (M.S.).
Ellen Frisco   Senior Accountant Ellen is a graduate of Robert Morris University and has worked at the Seminary since 1981.
Dennis Kelly   Controller Dennis received his bachelor's from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. He has worked at the Seminary since 1998.
Paul Schaughency   Personnel Consultant Paul is a retired executive who serves as a volunteer in the Business Office, dealing primarily with personnel services. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
Carol Spotts  

Accountant and Student Housing Coordinator Carol is the primary contact for apartment information. She has worked in accounting and the Business Office since 1981.

Center for Business, Religion and Public Life

Deirdre King Hainsworth          

Director of the Center for Business, Religion and Public Life Deirdre started at the Seminary in 2005. She received her bachelor's from Harvard University and her M.Div. and doctorate in social ethics from Princeton Theological Seminary. To learn more about Deirdre, visit her faculty page.

Continuing Education

James E. Davison '69           Director of Continuing Education and Special Events Jim earned his bachelor's from Westminster College and studied at the University of Ibaden, Nigeria. He earned his M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, returned to Europe to study at the Free University of Amsterdam, where he received a Dutch degree in theology, doctorandus, and completed his doctorate in the history of theology at the University of Iowa. He also serves as an adjunct professor in Greek language and exegesis. Lori Arnold   Administrative Assist to the Director of Continuing Education Lori is a graduate of Chatham College for Women (B.A.) and the University of Pittsburgh (M.S.). She started at the Seminary in 2011.

Doctor of Ministry Program

Susan L. Kendall           Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program Susan is a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and continues to serve as associate to the parish at Lewinsville Presbyterian Church, McLean, Va. She received her doctorate in theology, ethics, and culture from Claremont Graduate University. Susan came to the Seminary in 2004. For more information about Susan please visit her faculty page.
Michelle Lapinski  
Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program Michelle joined the Seminary staff in 2005. She earned her bachelor's from Geneva College.

Thomas Fulton           Facilities Director Tom is a graduate of Clarion State College and has taken classes at the Graduate School of Business at Duquesne. He joined the staff in 1997.

Field Education 

Carolyn Jones '77/'89          
Director of Field Education Carolyn began her service in 2007. A graduate of Westminster College, she holds two degrees from the Seminary as well as a master’s in education from Syracuse University. Carolyn has served in various positions in congregations and governing bodies of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
Holly McKelvey   Administrative Assistant to the Director of Field Education Holly came to the Seminary in 2004.

Information Technology

David Middleton           Director of Information Technology Dave is a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology, Pennsylvania State University, with a bachelor's in data networking and a minor in business management. He joined the Seminary's staff in 2004.
Brian Fidell           Network Administrator Brian retired from the US Navy Submarine Fleet as a network administrator and a communications electronics technician after 20 years of service. He has a bachelor's in IT from Thomas Edison State College. Brian joined the staff in 2012.
David Keys   Database and Website Administrator Dave joined the Seminary's staff in 2003. He earned his bachelor's in marketing from the Pennsylvania State University.

Institutional Advancement Office

Thomas Pappalardo           Vice President for Strategic Advancement and Marketing Tom came to the Seminary in 2007. He earned his bachelor's from Barrington College and master's from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Carolyn Cranston '99   Director of Alumnae/i and Church Relations Carolyn is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (B.S.) and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (M.Div.). She is ordained in the PC(USA) and frequently preaches at local congregations. Carolyn started at PTS in 2000.
Nancy Hammond   Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Strategic Advancement and Marketing Nancy joined the staff in 1984 and assumed her position in the Development Office in 2000.
David Keys   Database and Website Administrator Dave joined the Seminary's staff in 2003. He earned his bachelor's in marketing from the Pennsylvania State University.
Amanda Kile  
Gift Officer Amanda joined the Institutional Advancement staff in 2009. She earned her bachelor’s from the University of Pittsburgh.
Melissa Logan   Director of Communications Melissa began working at PTS in 2004. She earned her bachelor's from Westminster College and master's from Liberty University.
Sandy Smith   Hospitality Receptionist Sandy earned her bachelor's from Virginia Commonwealth University and associates from Westmoreland County Community College and University Center, Michigan. She assumed her current position in 2011.
Connie Gundry Tappy   Coordinator of Donor Services Connie joined the Institutional Advancement staff in 2009 and has served as project administrator of The Zeitah Excavations since 1999. She earned her bachelor’s in religious studies from Westmont College and her master's in theological studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Kelso Bible Lands Museum

Ron Tappy           Director of the Bible Lands Museum Ron joined the Seminary's faculty in 1997 and became the Museum Director the following year. For more information about Ron, visit his faculty page.
Karen Bowden Cooper '98          Curator of the Kelso Museum Karen became curator in 2000. She received her bachelor's from Connecticut College, and master's and doctorate from the University of California, and her master's in Old Testament from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
Nancy Lapp   Curator Emerita Nancy became curator emerita in 2000 after serving as the Seminary's museum curator since 1970. She has a bachelor's from the University of Cincinnati and a master's from McCormick Theological Seminary.

Metro-Urban Institute

Mary Buckley '00/'05          

Interim Program Coordinator of the Metro-Urban Institute Mary is an ordained Baptist minister who earned her M.Div. and D.Min. from Pittsburgh Seminary. She is also an associate minister at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Pittsburgh.

Miller Summer Youth Institute

 
Erin Davenport, MSW ’05           Director of the Miller Summer Youth Institute Erin is ordained as Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA). She is a graduate of Grove City College ’01, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary ’05, and the University of Pittsburgh ’05.

John Welch '02           Vice President for Student Service and Dean of Students John joined the administrative cabinet in 2007. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University (B.S.) and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (M.Div.). He is currently pursuing his Ph.D.
Danielle Waller   Administrative Assistant to the Placement Office Danielle joined the Seminary's staff in 2006.

Lisa Bick          
Playroom Director Lisa joined the staff in 1998 and earned her degree from the Community College of Allegheny County.
Rebekah Little   Playroom Aide Rebekah is a graduate of Messiah College and started at PTS in 2009.
Holly Stanton  
Assistant Director of the Playroom Holly joined the staff in 2011.
 

 Pneuma Office 

Martha Robbins

           Director of Pneuma Pneuma is a two-year certificate program in spiritual direction and leadership. Martha founded in the program in 2009. To learn more about Martha, read her faculty bio. For details on the program, visit the Pneuma website.
Stephanie Bell  

Administrative Assistant Stephanie earned her certificate in spiritual direction from Pneuma. She also holds a BA in missions and education from Messiah College and MA in higher education from Geneva College.

Linda Smith   Administrative Assistant to the President Linda joined the Seminary staff in 1968.

Student Services

Director of Financial Aid Cheryl earned her bachelor's from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, computer information specialist certification from Community College of Allegheny County, and master's from Pennsylvania State University. She joined the staff in 2008.
Danielle Waller   Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students, Director of Financial Aid, and Director of the Miller Summer Youth Institute Danielle joined the Seminary's staff in 2006.
 

World Mission Initiative

Donald Dawson           Director of the World Mission Initiative Don joined the PTS staff in 2000. He has a bachelor's from Westminster College and a D.Min. from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia. Don also serves as the director of the New Wilmington Mission Conference.
Jennifer Haddox '06  
Associate Director of the World Mission Initiative Jen has served at PTS since 2008. She earned her undergraduate degree from Eastern University and M.Div. from the Seminary.
