Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty As dean, Barry works with the faculty to develop the Seminary's curriculum and academic policies as well as program and course offerings. As vice president, he oversees the operations of the Academic Affairs and related offices.
Registrar Anne manages the functions of the Registrar’s Office including the registration process for new and returning students, scheduling courses offered each term, maintaining student academic records, processes transcript requests, and maintaining degree audits to certify students for graduation. Additionally, Anne assists students and faculty in navigating their respective portals and works with the dean and faculty on future course offerings.
Vice President for Planning and Institutional Effectiveness Jim serves on the Seminary’s administrative cabinet and oversees the Admissions Office as well as the Seminary’s accreditation. He works closely with the Board of Directors and other leadership to determine the Seminary’s strategic plan.
Director of Enrollment Derek serves the Seminary in overseeing issues surrounding admissions and retention, which allows him to serve both incoming students and current students. In addition to work with students, Derek coordinates with various departments on issues of enrollment.
Office Manager Hallie serves the vice president for planning and institutional effectiveness with various projects related to institutional effectiveness, prospective students, enrollment, and the admissions process.
Associate Director of Recruiting and Admissions Tony deals with everything related to admissions from recruitment, to answering questions about our degree programs, to helping applicants through the application process. He is the main contact for international students and coordinates the visit events.
Circulation Manager Ellen oversees the library’s circulation desk activities (checking books in and out, entering new borrowers, updating records, and the like). She also trains and supervises the students who work in the library.
Acquisitions Librarian If you need a book or an article, just let Mariam know and she will make sure to purchase it for our library, or pass it on to our interlibrary loan librarian to loan it for you from another library.
Vice President for Finance and Administration Ann oversees the financial and other administrative functions of the Seminary, including facilities, information technology, human resources, and food service. She is a member of the senior leadership team.
Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program Susan directs the Doctor of Ministry program. She recruits new students, can answer your questions about the program, and often teaches courses. Learn more the D.Min. program.
Director of Information Technology David is in charge of the Seminary’s technology infrastructure including the Seminary’s network, servers, databases, websites, telephone system, printing resources, and software solutions as well as support for these systems.
Database and Website Administrator David runs reports from the Seminary's database, oversees the functionality of the Seminary's website, and is in charge of the Seminary's website portal for students, faculty, and staff.
Director of Alumnae/i and Church Relations Carolyn works with alums to host the annual Alumnae/i Days events, Phonathon, and graduation brunch. Additionally, she is the liaison between the Seminary and supporting churches.
Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Advancement and Marketing Nancy provides general support to the VP for advancement. Additionally, she processes the Seminary's gifts and oversees the office's work-support students.
Director of the Metro-Urban Institute Kimberly directs the Christian Leadership Certificate Program and the Graduate Certificate in Urban Ministry in addition to visioning the future of MUI and how the Seminary can serve the urban community.
Administrative Assistant to the Metro-Urban Institute Katie provides administrative support for the MUI program, and helps to coordinate the program’s educational opportunities as well as other MUI events and promotions in the greater Pittsburgh community.
Director of the Miller Summer Youth Institute Erin Davenport co-directs the Miller Summer Youth Institute with her husband Derek. Erin plans the two-week long Institute held every summer on campus at PTS for rising high school seniors. She also serves the more than 450 alumnae/i of the program year round by holding reunions, communicating with them on social media, and traveling to visit them.
Director of Enrollment and Co-Director of the Miller Summer Youth Institute Derek is the co-director of the Miller Summer Youth Institute and works to bring high-school-aged youth to campus to explore theological education.
President and Professor of Cross-Cultural Theological Education President Esterline works with the Seminary's leadership team to determine the Seminary's core focuses and new programs. He is a faculty member and teaches courses cross-cultural theological education.
Administrative Assistant to the President Linda Smith assists President Esterline in his daily activities as well as schedules his calendar and makes his travel arrangements. Additionally, Linda is a Notary Public and can serve all members of the PTS community in this capacity.
Vice President for Student Services and Dean of Students John is a member of the Seminary Cabinet and oversee all matters related to community life and student services such as financial aid, placement, and pastoral care needs as well as childcare services for students with children.
Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Students and Director of Financial Aid Danielle coordinates the Preaching Association which provides students with opportunities to preach in local congregations. Additionally, she supports the dean with administrative tasks. Danielle also works with the Financial Aid Office to coordinate the work-support program.
Director of the World Mission Initiative Don leads the mission focus at the Seminary that seeks to engage students in what God is doing in the world through short-term cross-cultural mission experiences and other exposures.
Administrative Assistant to the World Mission Initiative Katie provides administrative support for the WMI program, and helps to coordinate missions trips, conferences, and other opportunities the program offers.
