ANNOUNCING FINANCIAL AID for PART-TIME STUDENTS
Beginning in fall 2016, students enrolled half-time (six credits per term) can qualify for need-based aid and/or merit scholarships. The maximum PTS amount available for half-time students is $3,000 per year (grants and/or scholarship). Both types of aid follow the standard application and renewal procedures that currently exist.
NEED-BASED AID APPLICATION
The online application for the master's level need-based aid (full-time or half-time) is available on MyPTS or hard copies of the 2016-2017 Financial Aid Application for need-based aid for all master's degree programs can also be downloaded. Please have your FAFSA completed with the application.
FEDERAL LOAN REQUEST
The Term I, II, and III 2016-2017 Masters Federal Direct Loan Request Form is available. Completed loan packets are processed throughout the year. Directions are available on the application or contact the Financial Aid Office at 412-924-1384 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students enrolled in summer credits at PTS may borrow a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan. Please complete the Summer Loan Request Form nd the 2016-2017 FAFSA. The 2016-2017 Tuition Grant will be applied to the 2016 summer credits. As always, CPE is not covered by PTS aid. There are no Merit Scholarships, Housing Grants, or Work Support opportunities during the summer months.
The Financial Aid Committee met April 28, 2015, to clarify policies beginning in 2015-2016. PTS will diligently enforce the long-standing rule of one Housing Grant per unit.The $100 grant will be split among qualifying students. Beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year, students may receive a maximum of 150 percent of the cost of tuition from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary funding. Students may continue to seek outside sources of aid to add to that amount.
