Pittsburgh Theological Seminary is pleased to announce that the Revs. Derek and Erin Davenport, members of the PTS Class of 2005, will be returning to campus Nov. 15 to join the staff. Derek will serve as associate director of admissions and Erin will serve as director of the Miller Summer Youth Institute (SYI). Derek will serve full-time and will spend much time on the road in recruitment work. A portion of his time will also be spent working with the SYI program. Erin will serve quarter-time, and will be dedicated specifically to directing the SYI program. Derek was a participant of the first SYI program as a high school youth in 1997.
Both Derek and Erin graduated from Grove City College before coming to study at PTS. During their student years at PTS, both worked with the SYI program in various capacities. Since graduation, they both have served in the Presbytery of Central Florida. Erin worked as a chaplain at Westminster Towers in Orlando and also as the coordinator of youth and camping ministries for the Presbytery. Derek has served as associate pastor for the Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Orlando.
