Who We Are

The Cokesbury Bookstore is part of a chain, which is the retail outlet of United Methodist Publishing House. Our primary mission is to address the needs of the Seminary, be we also serve the wider community. Our store is staffed by Store Manager Elaine Gebhart and Sales Associate Sherry Bloom.

Academic Resources

We provide many academic resources, including Bible commentaries, Bible language resources, and a general line of books about Christianity.

Faculty Publications

We also carry a full section of books authored by current and former faculty members.

Clergy Apparel

Our clergy apparel selection includes pulpit robes, clergy stoles, clergy shirts and blouses. We also order custom apparel.

Denominational Supplies

Part of our mission is to serve major Protestant denominations, and we therefore stock books and supplies for Presbyterian, United Methodist, Disciples of Christ, Episcopal, United Church of Christ, Baptist, and Lutheran (ELCA) churches.

We also carry School Supplies; Christmas, Advent, and Easter gifts, cards, etc.; PTS logo items; Christian gift items; Greeting cards for every occasion; and many other items. 

When We’re Open

During the academic year (beginning of September to mid May), we are open 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. We offer extended hours the first week of each term, staying open until 6:00 p.m. to accommodate night class students.

Summer hours (effective mid May to the beginning of September) are 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

We are not open evenings or weekends.

Purchases can be picked up after business hours at the Library. Arrangements must be made in advance. We also offer mail order via FedEx Ground anywhere in the U.S. for an additional fee.

Where We Are

We’re located on the North side of the Hick Memorial Chapel, adjacent to the entrance drive. There are parking spaces available directly across from the door reserved for off-campus customers. Campus Map
 

How We Operate

Methods of Payment

We accept cash, personal check, Cokesbury charge, major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express), travelers checks, money orders, and Cokesbury gift cards or gift certificates.

Cokesbury charge accounts are also available. If you’ve opened an account at another Cokesbury, there is no need to open a new account at PTS. This account works like a typical charge account, but without the interest. Payment can be made by mail or at the Bookstore. Please contact the Bookstore for more details.

Returns

The original receipt must accompany all returns. Textbook returns are accepted until after the last add-drop dates. Consult the PTS web calendar for these dates. Textbooks being returned must be unmarked and unused. Those texts with software are not returnable if the software seal is broken. No returns of textbooks from previous terms will be accepted at any time for any reason.
