Center for Business, Religion, & Public Life
The Center continues its founding mission to foster public awareness and understanding of critical issues in contemporary society. It accomplishes this by employing various formats and targeting a number of audiences. To the business, religious, professional, academic, and civic communities, the Center offers seminars, conferences, invitational forums, and public presentations.
History of the Center The Center for Business, Religion, and Public Life emerged in 1987 as the result of a conference on Business and Religion in the Age of Robotics. It was inspired by the turbulent environment in the Pittsburgh region during the early 1980s resulting from the breakdown of the region's steel and allied industries. Business and religious leaders recognized that a lack of information and communication often led to increased tension. The Center was founded to encourage dialogue on important issues and to re-establish trust among different groups. Contact Information Center for Business, Religion and Public Life,
