Campus Tour

Lewis W. Hicks Family Memorial Chapel & Cokesbury Bookstore

Hear the Hicks Chapel bells toll each hour as you wander through campus. Built in 1970, in pure Georgian style, the Hicks Chapel rises high into the sky with a noble spire surmounted by a golden weathercock, a traditional symbol warning against denial of the Lord. The Chapel serves as a gathering place for students, faculty, staff, and the larger community to worship God during the three weekly services. The building also contains a theater-like auditorium and a variety of offices including Continuing Education.

In addition to serving as a worship center, the Chapel also houses the Cokesbury Bookstore. Cokesbury is part of a chain, which is the retail outlet of United Methodist Publishing House. While providing for the needs of the Seminary, selling text books, faculty publications, and PTS apparel, they also offer resources to the public including denominational supplies, Bible reference texts, and clergy robes.
