A Word from the Director

Dear Friends,

Each year, as we put together our annual calendar of Continuing Education offerings at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, I realize again what an active place this is!  As you read through this calendar, you will also get a sense for the many different courses, classes, workshops, and lectures that we provide each year.

It is wonderful to be able to offer such a range of opportunities for education and training – as well as for renewal and refreshment – for an equally wide range of people.  Now and then I run into someone who assumes that Continuing Education courses are intended only for pastors.  Just a reminder, therefore: we do indeed provide many classes that are aimed at pastors, but we also design many classes that they are aimed at, or equally appropriate for, laypersons.

In Continuing Education, we are striving to provide “life-long learning” for everyone who is interested.  Thus, if you like to learn, if you desire to grow in mind and spirit, and if you want to be enchanted by what God is doing in this creation, I’m sure that there are numerous listings in this calendar that will interest you.  Take a quick look now and note the dates for the events that look appealing.  Be sure to mark them in your personal calendar, and then watch for the event flyers that will contain all the details.  If you can’t wait that long, just call our Office for more information.

Wishing you an educational and enriching 2007-2008 year!

James E. Davison
Director of Continuing Education
