9.  Tune Up Your Preaching:  A Practicum in the Art of Preaching

10.  The Gospel of Mark: The Faith Journey of Discipleship

 

The Gospel of Mark is arguably a Gospel more about Jesus’ discipleship training of the Twelve and the Twelve’s own faith journey than it is about the person of Jesus per se. We will look at the five major “scenes” of the Gospel, the character development of the disciples, the struggle with fear and why Mark ends with “for they were afraid,” and how the Gospel’s themes intersect with the call to discipleship in our own lives.
