Degree Programs

In our Master of Divinity, Master of Arts, Master of Sacred Theology, and Doctor of Ministry programs, serious attention is given to the study of biblical languages and exposition, the teachings of theology, history and ethics, world mission and evangelism, spirituality, pastoral care, worship and preaching, and education. All of these are significant in the meaningful practice of ministry. In addition, students are required to participate in a program of Field Education and reflection, an important aspect of preparation for ministry.

A variety of Joint Degree programs held in cooperation with local universities allow a student to receive an MDiv along with a master's in Law, Social Work, or Public Health. An evening program of study makes it possible to complete a MDiv or MA entirely through evening coursework. A PhD program is also available in conjunction with the University of Pittsburgh.

The seminary is rooted in the Reformed history of faithfulness to Scripture and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In keeping with our tradition, we continue our mission to be a caring community, to nurture personal faith and corporate worship, to promote global consciousness and service and to encourage students and faculty to relate their studies to the numerous styles of ministry emerging today.
