PITTSBURGH SEMINARY WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
At its May 2026 meeting, Pittsburgh Seminary’s Board of Directors welcomed four new members: Mark Brubaker, Dr. Audrey Murrell, General Dr. Barrye Price, and the Rev. Richard Norris III ’26.
Mark Brubaker is partner at Cerity Partners Institutional Investment Consulting, where he provides strategic investment advice to help clients meet longâ€term investment objectives. A CFA Institute Charterholder, he has more than 30 years of experience in the investment industry, having served as a managing director at Verus Investments (where he was also a member of the management committee), at PNC Institutional Asset Management, and at Wilshire Associates, as well as head of Wilshire’s OCIO solutions group.
Dr. Audrey Murrell is professor of business administration with secondary appointments in psychology and public and international affairs at the University of Pittsburgh. Specializing in topics such as mentoring, breaking the “glass ceiling”, diversity, and workplace discrimination, her work has appeared in both academic journals and popular publications such as Wall Street Journal. She has consulted for clients such as IBM, Heinz, Bayer, Eli Lilly, and YWCA in the areas of mentoring, organizational effectiveness, teamwork, diversity, and leadership development.
General Dr. Barrye Price is president and CEO of CADCA, the premier non-profit focused on a community and evidence-based multi-sector approach to drug prevention, smoking cessation, and the elimination of under-age drinking globally. He has more than 20 years of senior-level human resources leadership and executive management experience and has received numerous decorations through his 31 years of service in the U.S. Army. He was the first African-American to obtain a doctorate from Texas A&M University’s department of history.
The Rev. Richard Norris III ’26 is the Board’s graduating student representative, earning an M.Div. and Graduate Certificate in Urban Ministry in May 2026. Passionate about the future of the Church and particularly about local churches’ strategies to support their young people, he is the 17th Connectional Young People’s and Children’s Division president, the official youth organization of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He is an ordained itinerant elder in the AME church and previously served as the Connectional YPD Global Social Relations Committee chair.
In recognition of their past service on the Board, the Seminary also named Eliza Smith Brown (former chair), Hal Burlingame, Dave McClenahan, and Bishop Dorsey McConnell as directors emeritus.
