H.O.P.E. Network Focus Groups

The Metro-Urban Institute was awarded a $25,000 planning grant from Ministry in the City HUB with City Seminary to establish the H.O.P.E. Network at the Metro-Urban Institute beginning in 2024. The H.O.P.E. Network is a multi-part program with hope as an organizing theme that:
- addresses trauma informed pastoral ministry in communities with significant physical and structural violence and loss,
- trains congregations in non-violent activism to address communal violence and create a more hope-filled future, and
- works alongside artists to create expressions of hope out of and anchored within communities where healing is needed.
These efforts will focus on five neighborhoods surrounding Pittsburgh Theological Seminary during the planning period with a goal to expand throughout the city as we learn and grow.
