Pittsburgh Theological Seminary invites applications for the six-week Miller Undergraduate Summer Fellowship. Miller Fellows collaborate with Seminary staff and community partners to facilitate the Institute’s Neighborhood Scholars Academy. The Academy gathers rising juniors and seniors in high school from across the country for transformative learning focused on civic engagement, leadership development, and vocational discernment. Miller Fellows participate in the Academy as teaching assistants and facilitators who “learn while they lead.” They foster an immersive and supportive community for the Academy as they participate in discussion-based classroom learning and practice-based contextual learning. Fellows work together to make connections between ideas and action. And they challenge one another to take risks to move beyond their comfort zones and grow as leaders who care about their community and want to change the world.
Successful applicants will receive $6,000 for full participation in the program. Room, board, travel stipends, and funding for activities in the City of Pittsburgh will also be provided.
