Description

Join us for a conversation with Tim Lomax, a leading liturgical and missional thinker in the Church of England and author of Creating Missional Worship. Worship leaders, musicians, pastors, and other local church leaders are invited to learn from Tim how to cultivate deeper connections between worship and mission in our churches.

Schedule and Location

The workshop will be held Sat., June 13, 2015, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at The Upper Room Presbyterian Church (5828 Forward Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15217). This event is hosted by the Church Planting Initiative of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and provided free of charge as a resource for local churches.

Speaker Bio

Tim Lomax is the vicar of Bayston Hill, a large village surrounded by beautiful countryside on the south side of Shrewsbury, England. Christ Church is a parish church journeying from traditional church to missional church - through nurturing multiple fresh expressions / missional communities and engagement with the local community. Tim is keen to encourage churches to fuse worship and mission instead of running mission programs in addition to worship that is disconnected to its context. He is a member of the Church of England Liturgical Commission, chair of the C of E’s Liturgical Commission / Fresh Expressions joint group and of the Lichfield Diocese Worship Group. He teaches on mission-shaped church and worship at conferences and as a visiting lecturer at theological colleges. He is a hymn and songwriter, co-author of Crafting Common Worship (Church House Publishing, and Liquid Worship Grove Books). He is married to Kate who is associate vicar in the same parish and they have three children. Tim enjoys watching Shrewsbury Town Football team, walking with his dog, Max, and good food with friends.
