Throughout the writings and life of Henri Nouwen, we see a three-fold pattern, and movement, from solitude, to community, and into ministry. These are vital rhythms and practices of the Christian life. We will explore together the contour and depths of these practices as well as how we can order daily our lives around them creating space for God to act and speak.

Required Reading
The complete reading list for this class is below. Please do your very best to read these books before your arrival. If you wish to be in the Spiritual Formation Certificate program, you should prepare a one-page reflection paper for each book; these will be collected Sunday evening. If you do not plan to seek the certificate but are taking the class for personal enrichment, the reflection papers are not required.
