Dr. James A. Durlesser, lecturer in biblical languages at PTS and a retired United Methodist pastor, will lead the course. Classes are held Mondays from 12:30-2:00 p.m. from Sept. 30-Nov. 4, 2013. This term will focus on Advent Old Testament and Psalter from the Lectionary Readings, Year A. Terms II and III will be held Jan. 6-Feb. 17, 2014 and March 24-May 12, 2014 respectively.

There will be an opportunity to examine modern translations with an eye to the question of why scholars have made the choices they have in rendering the Old Testament into English.
