Many Americans have difficulty making sense of Russia’s actions in relation to Ukraine and Crimea. This seminar will demonstrate the key role that Catholic and Orthodox churches have played in shaping how Ukrainians and Russians think about national identity and sovereignty.

The format will be a conversation between William Gleason, specialist on Ukraine for the Foreign Service Institute of the U.S. Department of State, and John Burgess, professor of theology at PTS and specialist on Russian Orthodoxy.

Questions and comments from the audience will be welcomed. This program is free and open to the public, however, we appreciate your registration to plan for sufficient seating and refreshments.
