Pittsburgh Theological Seminary will celebrate its 223rd commencement activities Fri., May 31, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at East Liberty Presbyterian Church. Dr. Molly T. Marshall, president and professor of theology and spiritual formation at Central Baptist Theological Seminary, will present the commencement address. 

Commencement Schedule of Events

1:00-2:00 p.m. Rehearsal, East Liberty Presbyterian Church (ELPC) Mandatory for all graduates. 

2:30-3:30 p.m. Graduating Class Awards Reception – Kadel Dining Hall

3:30-4:30 p.m. Award Distribution and Dinner (RSVP Required) – Kadel Dining Hall. Pre-registration is required for anyone attending, including the graduates, graduate guests, and PTS employees. Register online. Deadline for registration is Fri., May 17.

4:30 p.m. Shuttle Service Begins - (Accessible). Shuttles will pick up from the front entrance of the Seminary and transport to ELPC. Shuttles will run continuously until Commencement begins and will resume after the Commencement ceremony ends. 

5:00 p.m. Graduates Robe - ELPC

5:00 p.m. Graduate Individual Pictures (Optional) – ELPC. Optional individual pictures will be taken in the Garth/lower level courtyard or in the Social Hall if it rains. You must register for commencement photographs prior to the ceremony. Check out additional details online.

6:00 p.m. Graduate Group Pictures (Encouraged) – ELPC. Group pictures of the graduates will be taken on the outside steps of the Penn Avenue entrance or in the Social Hall if it rains. Please be in place promptly at 6:00 p.m. You must register for commencement photographs prior to the ceremony. 

6:30 p.m. Robing for Graduates and Platform Participants

7:00 p.m. Procession – 223rd Commencement Ceremony - ELPC. Reception immediately following in the Social Hall

8:30-10:00 p.m. Shuttle Service Resumes from ELPC to PTS
