Journey Inward; Journey Outward ~ A Church Educators' Event
The Church has long been a pioneer for education in our society, both religious and secular. As the world around us changes, so do educational needs and expectations. What are we seeing in these trends that can help us to refocus our efforts as leaders in religious bodies? During this event, we'll address "Education and the Church: Is the Past Our Future?"
In the morning session, Moderator Rada will lead us in reflection and conversation about the role of education in the church and new ways of thinking about how to "do" education. Following chapel and lunch, there will be a dialogue between Moderator Rada and Edwin van Driel, Directors' Bicentennial Associate Professor of Theology at PTS, exploring the realities of a changing church with specific attention to issues of concern to those attending.
Keynote Presenter
Heath Rada, Moderator of the 221st (2014) General Assembly of the PC(USA).
