The Metro-Urban Institute, in partnership with the World Mission Initiative at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, recently led a short-term mission trip to Kenya. The group explored issues affecting women and girls, and engaged with churches and non-profit organizations working for justice throughout the country. Join us at PTS for Kenya Day Sept. 21, when the team will share more about their experience. At 11:30 a.m. they will lead a chapel service, which will highlight the Kenyan culture and emphasis on hospitality. After chapel, a Kenyan-themed lunch will be available for purchase at the PTS cafeteria. That evening from 5:30-6:30 p.m. the group will give a presentation to the broader community sharing more details about their experience. For additional information, contact .
The Metro-Urban Institute prepares Christian leaders for the challenges of urban contextual ministry. Founded in 1991, MUI combines the theory and practice of collaborative community ministry into a program of urban theological education that prepares students for excellence in any context of ministry, but with particular attention to public realities affecting the urban environment.
World Mission Initiative exists to serve the church in the mission of God. Believing that God calls, gifts, and sends God’s people into God’s world, we help individuals and congregations rediscover their purpose, calling, and missional identity.
