Pittsburgh Theological Seminary invites you to the annual Lessons and Carols service Wed., Dec. 16, 2015, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in Hicks Memorial Chapel. Various members of the PTS community along with the Chapel Choir will lead us in worship.

This year’s service will be a variation on the traditional Lessons and Carols service, which celebrates the birth of Jesus through Bible readings that convey the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of a Messiah, and the birth of Jesus. In the midst of tragic realities that seem to overwhelm the global landscape and our own personal lives, we cry out “Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus!” Scripture readings will help us engage Advent longing for Jesus’ second coming with eager anticipation and Christ-centered hope. The readings will be interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns, and choral music.

The event is free and open to all ages. A reception will follow the service.
