Increasingly a focus on the spiritual life is being pushed out of the Mainline Church at the same time people outside the church are saying that they are "spiritual but not religious." When they say that, they are telling us that we are "religious but not spiritual" or "theological but not spiritual."  We will explore how to bring personal practices of prayer, discernment, centering, and and awareness back into the foundations of the church. We will also examine how we can be "spiritual AND religious AND theological" at the same time. The course is based on Graham Standish's 19 years of experience in helping his own congregation, and those throughout North America recover the spiritual vibrancy that was part of the original Christian church movement. The class includes material from Graham's books, but also much that has not been published to date.
