The Art of Transitional Ministry, Week 2

Guiding a Congregation Through Change and Transition

Instructors

Paul Rhebergen and Janet Nolting Carter

Dates

Mon., Nov. 13-Fri., Nov. 17, 2017

Overview

The Week 2 class is for pastors and religious leaders serving in a ministerial context characterized by transition in leadership, culture, context, and ministry who wish to broaden their understanding and skills for leading in the midst of change. Participants will use their current ministry settings for reflection as they hone skills to read, analyze, and engage systems in which they minister. This is an intense, 30-hour course with the majority of time spent in small group process, intermixed with presentations by Transitional Ministry Education Consortium (TMEC) and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (PTS) faculty. The 30 contact hours during the week-long session are offered in morning, afternoon, and evening blocks. Participants are expected to focus fully on this program. Arrangements should be made in advance for coverage of pastoral responsibilities. Attendance for all 30 hours is necessary to receive a certificate of completion.

Required to participate: Completion of the Transitional Ministry, Week 1 course (more than six months ago and within the past five years) and current service in a transitional setting. Transitional settings are any ministry that is consciously seeking to work with the change that is being experienced or is anticipated. E-mail a copy of your certificate of completion of Week 1 training to ConEd@pts.edu when you register.
