As an Undergraduate Fellow you also will have an additional role in our program. You will “learn while you lead” by assisting Seminary staff as a peer educator for our Neighborhoods Scholars. You will serve as a resident assistant in the dormitory, assisting our community life coordinator in cultivating camaraderie and community among the cohort. This includes hanging out casually in the lounge and on campus, as well as facilitating informal activities off campus. You will serve as a teaching assistant in the classroom by setting an example in our Seminars. Sometimes this will mean going first to break the ice. Other times it will mean hanging back and creating space for others to speak. Most times it will mean modeling generosity and curiosity in our discussion. You also will serve as a mentor for a small group of two or three Neighborhood Scholars. You will meet weekly to give them a chance to reflect and process in a smaller setting. And you will connect with them one-on-one as needed.
