Miller Summer Undergraduate Fellowship
Are You Ready to be an Undergraduate Fellow?
Are you currently enrolled in college, taking a gap year, or recently graduated? Do you care about your community and want to make a difference in the world? Do you love big questions and have a passion for deep conversations? Are you open to spending time and sharing space with a diverse community? Are you willing to be courageous about your own commitments and perspectives as well as curious about how others see and do things differently? If you answer “yes” to these questions, if you want to grow as a learner and a leader, and if you have a passion to invest in youth, then you are ready to be an Undergraduate Fellow. Participating in the Undergraduate Fellowship will enliven your faith and spirituality, enlarge your theological imagination, and expand your sense of calling.
Program Costs and Compensation
There is no fee to participate in the Undergraduate Fellowship. Room and board, as well as program supplies and expenses are covered. Fellows must pay for their transportation to and from Pittsburgh, as well as any incidental expenses for extracurricular activities. Undergraduate Fellows also “earn while they learn,” and receive a $5,000 stipend for their work with our Neighborhood Scholars. This work includes participation in online training and preparation prior to the Fellowship program. Those who complete the Fellowship also are eligible to apply for additional funding for continued self-directed learning through the Hurlbert Family Fellowship for Contextual Ministry and Community Research.
