The Miller Institute employs learner-centered, inquiry-based, participant-observation pedagogies that holistically integrate formation, action, and reflection: being, doing, and thinking. We do so by cultivating immersive learning communities, creating transformative learning experiences, and curating innovative learning content. That sequence is intentional, because our learning model is not “content-forward.” You will learn about things (theology and philosophy, ethics and politics, history and sociology). You will learn how to do things (prayer and meditation, theological reflection and biblical interpretation, contextual analysis and social criticism). But the point of your learning is formation and transformation rather than information: learning how to be someone whose faith is integrated into all of life.
