A BRIEF THEOLOGY OF CHRISTIAN PRAYER
The Retreat portion of this class is cancelled. The online portion is proceeding as planned.
DATES
Online Sessions: March 16-April 4, 2020
In-Person Retreat Session: April 17, 5:00 p.m.-April 18, 4:00 p.m., 2020
OVERVIEW
Our prayers are a response that comes from hearing what God is saying and then daring to speak from our hearts. Join us online as we explore the biblical and theological foundations of prayer and then as we meet in person for an overnight retreat to pray and to connect in community.
In this course, we will:
- hope to enrich our understanding of what Scripture and Christian theology teach us about prayer; and
- seek to deepen our experience of prayer as a pathway of connection to the triune God known to us in Jesus Christ.
This class is being taught in a hybrid format, meaning that some portions will be online and one session will be a face-to-face retreat time. The online sessions will be offered asynchronously - in other words, you can participate in the class materials at your convenience any time during the day or night. The retreat at Villa Maria will begin with dinner on Friday evening and end mid-afternoon on Saturday.
