The Board of Directors of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary has approved Denis Yevstifeyev, CPA, as PTS’s next vice president for finance and administration. Yevstifeyev will transition into this role Sept. 30, 2025, and work alongside the current vice president, Tom Hinds, until his retirement in January 2026. Yevstifeyev has served as a contractor in the Seminary’s Business Office since June 2025.
Rooted in Pittsburgh, Yevstifeyev brings to this role 20 years of experience as a financial professional. He comes to PTS from The Art Institutes, where he served for 15 years—first as an analyst, then as manager, director, vice president for financial planning and analysis, and finally chief financial officer. From his time at the Art Institutes, Yevstifeyev brings focused experience in higher education, having led a complex system of educational institutions across a multi-state, multi-location environment. As an executive-level leader, he has advised fellow leaders and board members on strategy, development, finance, services, and markets; overseen financial planning, budgeting, and analysis; built systems, teams, and processes to navigate a major institutional shift; managed external relationships; and directed cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with stated goals. He names advising other leaders as one of his greatest strengths.
In addition to his professional leadership, Yevstifeyev sat on the board of Liberated Syndication for 15 years, where he served as audit committee chair and compensation committee member. He holds a B.A. in accounting from Washington & Jefferson College, and he is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Pennsylvania.
“It is with deep gratitude and humility that I step into this new chapter at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary,” Yevstifeyev says. “Having learned from the wise, collaborated with the brilliant, and shared joy with the great, I now commit to applying this experience in service of the Seminary’s mission and its community.”
“Pittsburgh Seminary is deeply blessed to be joined by such an experienced financial professional,” says the Rev. Dr. Patrice Fowler-Searcy ’13/’24, chair of PTS’s Board of Directors. “Denis’s experience in higher education, the way he prioritizes communication and teamwork, and his gifts for bringing good order to help our systems function to the glory of God will be incredible assets in the coming chapter of the Seminary’s life. We are so thankful to have him join our team.”
