During the 2018 Student Spring Break, the World Mission Initiative will provide the opportunity for 53 students and church leaders to travel to Egypt, Colombia, and Israel/Palestine.

Open to PTS students, local pastors, and church mission leaders, our mission trips provide theological lessons and life-changing experiences. Many students believe that their experiences in cross-cultural mission will affect their ministry—whether in the church, the community, or the world!

While in Egypt, Professor Scott Hagley and Church Planting Initiative Director Karen Rohrer will lead a group to learn about the particular mix of context and people the Spirit is using to bring unprecedented growth to the Church there.

In Colombia, Dean of Students John Welch and WMI Director Hunter Farrell will accompany travelers in understanding the history of violence in this South American nation, the impact of violence on local communities, and the Presbyterian Church of Colombia’s persevering work to nurture a culture of peace with justice.

While in Israel/Palestine, PTS Field Education Director Cathy Brall, Pastor Todd Leach (Shadyside PC), Professor Bob Ross (Point Park University), and the participants will listen to Christians, Jews, Muslims, and others and hear about the quest for peace with justice, as well as what Palestinian Christians ask of U.S. Christians.
