Urban Leadership Series Addresses Advocacy

Join the Seminary's Metro-Urban Institute Mon., Oct. 1, 2018, for the first session of the 2018-2019 Urban Leadership Series. Brandi Fisher, executive director of Alliance for Police Accountability, will address "Advocacy: Exploring Roles in the Fight for Justice." Hor'devours and networking begin at 6:00 p.m. and the presentation is at 6:30. 

Alliance for Police Accountability is a grassroots organization dedicated to criminal justice reconstruction specializing in community/police relations. Fisher will address the various ways individuals can advance social justice in their communities.

Everyone is able to engage in the fight for social justice in some capacity whether it be protesting, fundraising, organizing, or engaging individuals in the political process. Join us to learn how you can participate in achieving justice around issues that matter to you.

The Urban Leadership Series is comprised of workshops and lectures aimed at equipping organizations and individuals with the tools and skills necessary to address issues in urban communities. This series is held the first Monday of every month and facilitated by various community subject matter experts. Future dates include Nov. 5, and Dec. 3, 2018, Feb. 4,  March 4, and  April 1, 2019.
