Justice League featuring the Kelly Strayhorn Theater

Janera Solomon, executive director of the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, will share with us about the Theater's involvement in the Pittsburgh community. The Kelly Strayhorn Theater is an inclusive space for emerging contemporary artists in Pittsburgh. In addition to hosting performances, the Theater engages in a lot of social justice work in the community.

Urban Leadership Series, Session 2: Grant Writing

This grant writing workshop, led by Karris Jackson of POISE Foundation, is the second session of Metro-Urban Institute's Urban Leadership Series. Networking and hors d'oeuvres will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the presentation starting at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend; admission and refreshments are free. Karris Jackson is vice president of programs at POISE Foundation, a community foundation focused on supporting the African American community. Ms. Jackson’s responsibilities include managing the Foundation’s grant making portfolio, convening community stakeholders, and advancing the foundation’s mission through public policy, leadership, and advocacy. She has a strong desire to push the boundaries of philanthropy to be more inclusive and effective at addressing issues affecting the Black community.

Fourth Annual Lecture and Community Conversation on Race and Faith with the Kelso Lecture
